When we have children, they take over our entire life. Everything we do is for them, and it’s easy to lose yourself. You stop paying attention to how you look and how your clothes make you feel cause you’re busy making sure your children are fed and dressed. You don’t get many chances to spoil yourself or feel your best.
Then every so often, you may have a rare date night, or a girl’s night out planned, and you are trying all your best clothes on. You’re all excited, then you catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror. You might notice your tight dress accentuating all the lumps and bumps that you never had before. What was once your most flattering top is now highlighting your bingo wings. All these things you have never noticed before, have all a sudden become all you see wrong with yourself. You wonder how you let yourself get to this state, and beat yourself up.
Motherhood is supposed to be an amazing and enlightening journey, but instead, you may feel like you have no identity, and that your body isn’t yours. You feel like you can’t wear anything but a hoodie and leggings, anything to cover up your insecurities.
